Black Towns Revival Weekend

November 2023


Black Towns Municipal Management (BTMM), UCC Church Building and Loan Fund (CB&LF), and The Congressional Black Caucus for New Urbanism (CBCNU) will host a 3-4 day event in Oklahoma to support the remaining U.S. Black Townships in the areas of community redevelopment, investment leveraging, and creating sustainable transformation through partnerships among faith-based institutions, developers, planners, and other stakeholders.


MORE MONEY Music Video

Premiered on July 4, 2022


MORE MONEY is a music video/video production concept created by Cymone Davis, former Town Manager of Tullahassee, OK to create a social movement around the timely conversation of reparations and equity, and to re-envision wealth within the Black community.


Black Resilience Network Launches at the White House


February 8, 2023


FEMA, along with the Small Business Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Health and Human Services, Department of Transportation, Department of Agriculture, among other federal agencies joined the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and the Black Resilience Network for a hosted roundtable discussion to reinforce climate resilience efforts. 


The event facilitated collaboration between Black faith-based and community organizations, private and philanthropic sectors, to emphasize how we work together for climate and disaster resiliency in Black towns and communities. 


The Climate Resilience Roundtable was the first time in history that Black organizations convened with FEMA and other federal agencies at the White House to discuss funding mechanisms and support systems for Black towns, communities, and organizations.


Conference Keynote Speaker for the American Planning Association- Oklahoma Chapter

March 5- 7, 2023


The Plan It Forward APA Oklahoma Chapter Conference took place in Enid, OK. Planners from across the state convened for two days of knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The conference included three inspiring keynote speakers, including Cymone who shared her transformative journey from town manager to town builder, focusing on community development as the founder and CEO of BTMM.


Mapping Missouri’s Black Towns and Settlements Tour


 April 4th-6th, 2023


Missouri State Parks, Lincoln University and the Missouri History Museum partnered to host Dr. Atyia Martin, founder of Next Leadership Development, and Cymone Davis, founder of Black Towns Municipal Management for a multi-city tour titled “Mapping Missouri’s Black Towns and Settlements.” 


The purpose of the tour was to showcase the first-ever online interactive map highlighting historic areas established or inhabited by Black Americans, while also visiting Missouri’s own Black towns and prominent communities.
